The YEP Service Learning Journey

Every expedition project is a learning journey to interact with communities and to meet needs arising from issues related to the arts, culture and heritage, education, environment and conservation, healthcare, income generation, special needs, technology transfer and more. The YEP journey consists of 3 phases where teams take 3 to 9 months to complete.

Teams organise and conduct the pre-expedition local project in Phase 1 with the aim to learn more about their local community before going overseas; Teams implement the overseas expedition project in Phase 2 and after the overseas expedition, teams are encouraged during the Phase 3 post-expedition projects to engage the local community through service. This youth are given opportunities to learn through this service through the process of facilitated reflection. (See YEP’s Desired Outcome)
