YEP ManipalThe YEP Manipal team is made up of 3 staff and 33 students from the School of Health Science. They brought on observational visits to Katsurba Hospital, rural maternity child welfare centre and TMA Pai Hospital where they get to interact and share experiences with the student nurses, and gain insights as to the happenings there. Soon after, they assisted Manipal University to repaint and refurbish the Hirebettu rural health centre, and conducted basic health assessment for the villagers. The health screening programme includes height, weight, blood pressure, blood glucose and skin assessment.

YEP ManipalMedical equipment, furniture and medications were contributed by the team to furnish the Health assessment centre which will function in a better capacity in treating and managing the common diseases in health promotion and prevention. Other works include educating the villagers on AIDS, repercussions of smoking, hypertension and stroke; educating the school children on personal hygiene, proper brushing and care of teeth and enhancing the awareness of typhoid and malaria. The team also assisted Manipal College of Nursing in immunization of needy children under 4 years old.
